Biography
Professional career
- Mr. Holtan worked in private practice as a criminal defense attorney for almost seven years before joining the Utah Attorney General's Office as a prosecutor in 2017.
- Mr. Holtan previously served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the DEA's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force.
Judicial service
- Ryan Holtan was appointed to the Bench for the West Jordan Justice Court in March 2025.

Portable Electronic Devices
Utah permits possession and use of portable electronic devices in courthouses unless limited by UCJA Rule 4-401.02 or by directive of the judge.

Recording Photography Transmission
Utah prohibits recording, photographing, or transmitting images or sound of court proceedings with portable electronic devices unless allowed under the electronic-media rule or another stated exception.
