Biography
Professional career
- Before joining the bench, Judge Evershed represented the Child Protection Division of the Utah Attorney General’s Office in cases involving child abuse, neglect, and dependency.
- In 2008, Judge Evershed opened his own practice, specializing in family, criminal, and juvenile law, and also served as a public defender in Juvenile Court.
Judicial service
- Judge Ryan B. Evershed was appointed to the Second District Juvenile Court in October 2024 by Gov. Spencer J. Cox.
- Prior to his appointment to the Second District, Judge Evershed served in the Eighth District Juvenile Court, having been appointed in August 2013 by Gov. Gary R. Herbert.

Portable Electronic Devices
Utah permits possession and use of portable electronic devices in courthouses unless limited by UCJA Rule 4-401.02 or by directive of the judge.

Recording Photography Transmission
Utah prohibits recording, photographing, or transmitting images or sound of court proceedings with portable electronic devices unless allowed under the electronic-media rule or another stated exception.
