Professional career
- Judge Gobeil was the University of Georgia School of Law’s Spring 2026 Jurist in Residence, and has guest-lectured at Mercer University School of Law, Seton Hall School of Law, and Temple University School of Pharmacy.
- Formerly, Judge Gobeil served on the Judicial Council of Georgia’s Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence and the Courts and the Statewide Opioid Taskforce headed by Attorney General Carr.
- And prior to that, she practiced general civil and life sciences law, both as a partner at Thompson Hine, LLP, and as in house counsel for two global companies.
- A native of Thomaston, Georgia, Judge Gobeil is a graduate of Emory University and the University of Georgia School of Law, where she served on The Journal of Intellectual Property Law .
- Judge Elizabeth Gobeil was appointed by Governor Deal to the Court of Appeals of Georgia on June 5, 2018 and was elected statewide in 2020 and 2026.
