Professional career
- Judge Hubel began his career in 1976 as a partner of the law firm now called Mitchell, Lang & Smith. He worked as a trial attorney and specialized in insurance and professional liability litigation. In 1987, he became a partner of Karnopp, Petersen, Noteboom, Hubel, et. al. He worked with this firm until he was appointed magistrate judge.
