Hummel, newly-retired United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of New York, has joined the firm as Senior Counsel.
- Hummel served as the town justice of East Greenbush from 1986 to 1992. He was then elected to the Rensselaer County Family Court, where he served from 1993 to 2001. In 2002, he joined the Surrogate's Court. Judicial career Hummel joined the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York in 2012. He was re-appointed to a second term in 2020. 2011 election Hummel ran successfully for re-election on November 8, 2011, winning 99.81 percent of the vote.
